WIC nutrition program

WIC is a nutrition program that provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals to healthcare and other services free of charge to qualified Massachusetts families. WIC serves low- to moderate-income people in critical stages of growth and development.

WIC offers:

Personalized nutrition education and counseling, including breastfeeding support
WIC card to redeem at participating grocery stores and pharmacies for nutritious foods and infant formula/baby foods
Referrals to other healthcare and social service agencies

Eligibility
- Must reside in Massachusetts
- Household income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level
- A woman who is pregnant or breastfeeding
- A parent, grandparent, foster parent or other legal guardian can apply for infants and children under five years old
- If you receive Traditional Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or MassHealth (Medicaid), you are automatically income-eligible
- Foster children under age 5 are automatically eligible
