YouthWorks
youth ages 14-21
Our collaboration with the Hampden County Workforce Board provides a structured, well-supervised work experience for low-income, at-risk youth ages 14-21.
Risk factors strongly considered when selecting youth participants:
- History of juvenile delinquency, either having the status of “court involved,” in the custody of Department of Youth Services or on Juvenile Court probation
- Poor academic performance or a school dropout
- Homeless or a runaway
- Aged out or close to aging out of foster care
- The child of a single working parent
- Have a disability or special needs
- Lack fluency in English, or a foreign immigrant
- A teen parent
